LANZ Vineyards *****  Five-Star-Winery rated by James Halliday

The 16 ha vineyards, planted to Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre, are situated on a high exposed ridge in the southwest of the Barossa Valley, in Lyndoch, about 80 km northeast of Adelaide.

Wonderful views down the valley, across ondulating fields, framed by the hills of the sub-region Eden Valley: on a clear day, you can observe the shimmering lights of sunset on the distant cool waters of Spencer Gulf.  -  A perfect place to be!

The site with its terroir is ideal for grape-growing: Mediterranean climate, relatively infertile top-soils characterized by enormous quantities of shale and limestone based rocks, free-draining sub-soils, the elevation on the hill, the frequent spring and summer winds ensure fruit of the highest quality. Desease pressure is low, biodiversity is supported by viticultural practices, irrigation and all natural resources are used very responsibly.
